Values and Treasures
Journey of a gypsy soul
ABOUT ME
Kimberly Grace Bowman
I have loved writing for as long as I can remember. More than that, I love stories. Throughout my childhood, I gleaned so much from my favorite television shows and movies that planted in me such a fond appreciation for emotion and the portrayal thereof whether it be in written form or played out on the screen. When I was fourteen, I put pen to paper to write my first story. Looking back on that day, I laugh. But I wouldn't have traded that experience for the world. It gave me my humble beginnings that each of us have to begin with.
Some time later after I began my high school years through homeschooling, I reached out to a local Christian magazine publication inquiring to ask if they published stories. The editor told me that they unfortunately did not publish fiction. But she instead extended an invitation for me to write another piece for the magazine. And at that moment my freelance journey began. In the few years I maintained a relationship with the magazine, I would write several column features about various Mississippi community efforts such as Mustard Seed, Wellsfest, Word of Life Church's Poindexter outreach center, and the local chapter of the Special Olympics. But the highlight of my time as a rookie freelance writer would come with my interview with Christian music's Amy Grant herself. I don't gloat but I glory in how blessed I was to be able to speak with such an amazing woman of God whose music has impacted so many over the years including myself.
Since then, I have continued to further my freelance career as 1/6 owner of female-centric Nascar news authority Ladies of Speed (ladiesofspeed.org) through reporting about a single driver throughout the active season. In addition to reporting, I host a weekly live webcast that highlights the past race and all the burning news topics coming from the Nascar community that given week.
Most recently I have joined Royal Central (royalcentral.co.uk), a European royal news source based out of the United Kingdom that focuses mainly on the daily happenings concerning the British and numerous other European royal families, as a reporter. Each piece of news is gossip-free, spreading only the most accurate and unbiased highlights of the job that is being a member of the Royal Family. No tabloids allowed here.
In those moments between photography, writing, and making videos, you can safely bet that I'm watching Walker Texas Ranger, running the leading Sons of Thunder fan group, making fan art, writing fan fiction stories, or staring at WTR photos. The love runs deep...very deep. I also love music to my core. I truly don't know how I'd live without it. I love the sound of the 80s the best but find goodness in every decade. And here's to remembering the Christian music of days past. They truly don't make it like they used to.
What are my goals moving forward? Travel. The Bible makes it clear that you should write your vision and make it plain. And I truly believe that traveling is the next step in my life. I don't know where it will lead or to what I will be able to glean from the journey. But that's half the adventure to discover what lies in the unknown. Right now I remain faithful to earning the funds necessary to make my first overseas journey most likely in summer 2019. With many friends abroad, it was inevitable that I would desire to do a bit of sightseeing. And hey, there's no time like the present! I plan to write, record, and document the journey very well. Every day I look forward to meeting beautiful people and making some amazing memories along the way!
As I have entered my twenties, sometimes the future scares me. Other times just thinking about the adventures that lie ahead of me thrills me endlessly. Still, this gypsy soul of mine can get restless sometimes. Yet, every day I pray for God to use me as he wants. Then I rest in the fact that I can do anything I set my heart and mind to. I will chase my dreams. I will not stop. I will be more than average. I will spread God's love. I will capture the essence of life. I will dare to push my own limitations and truly live life to the fullest.
